Vulcan visit

Thursday 13th March 2025 saw a 13-strong Club visit to Avro Vulcan bomber XL426 at Southend Airport.
Since her arrival at Southend in December 1986, XL426 has been lovingly cared for by the Vulcan Restoration Trust (VRT), an entirely volunteer group who maintain her in a live taxyable condition.
DHARS Chairman Kevin G0MLO, also a former Chairman, Trustee and founder member of the Trust, gave a presentation of the history and what it has taken to return the jet to her current condition over the last 38 years. This was followed by a walk around the aircraft, a visit into the cockpit and a tour of the Trust's engineering facility and ground equipment.
