Reasonable SWR on 2m.
Over the last 6 months or so, work has been going on to get a satellite station set up at the club QTH.
Firstly, an Amsat G6LVB antenna controller kit (purchased by G0MLO a few years earlier) was built by Dave G1DMQ then assembled into a case by Jim G0RTD.
Jim purchased an ancient Kenpro az-el rotator from eBay and set about refurbishing it, only to find the internal ring gear to be substantially damaged. Sourcing a new ring gear from Indonesia!! (of all places), Jim continued refurbishment with new position feedback pots and a full repaint resulting in a super "as new" rotator.
Kevin G0MLO loaned a brand-new set of M2 LEO circularly polarised satellite antennas which were assembled at the Club (70cms) and Kevin's QTH (2m) and these were erected in beautiful sunshine in early March and connected to new coax and control cables that been run out a couple of weeks previously.
We look forward to connecting everything up in the next couple of weeks, running the software and hopefully tracking and hearing some satellites.
